<p>In the previous section of this course, we established a basic foundation for qualitative social science research. In this section we will discuss the methods, including verbal as well as behavioral techniques for conducting an interview. </p>
<p>We will then discuss how to design the questions to be asked and topics covered, also known as the interview protocol. </p>
<p>Finally, we will provide exemplary interviewing techniques and common mistakes to illustrate how questions should be asked and interviews managed.</p>
