For this week's Solver interview, we're featuring Melissa Corto of Education Modified, a 2018 Solver from the Teachers & Educators Challenge. Education Modified's Impact Opportunity has related to the problem of various schools and districts focusing resources and attention to legal compliance for students with special needs rather than focusing on learning outcomes.

In her Theory of Change, she lays out each of the key components in a clear way. As you watch, note how she establishes clear links between the inputs, outputs, and outcomes. She also talks about the specific context that makes Education Modified's work both important and valuable.

Did you notice the relevant ideas about how Education Modified aims to create impact? To provide some context, Melissa explains the need they focus on and whom they aim to serve. Her explanation of the Theory of Change begins with her overview of what her company provides and then moves on to explain how it is used by the teachers whom they serve. Next, she discusses two kinds of results: the short-term benefits for teachers, as well as the wider benefits for the children they are helping.
