<p style="font-size: 16px;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">In Lesson 5, we touched briefly </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">on some of the differences that can exist between ourselves </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">as interviewers and the people who we are interviewing. </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">In that lesson we spoke primarily </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">about differences in status, power, and access to resources, </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">and started to discuss some of the challenging dynamics that can occur when our interviewee may feel that they are lacking or inferior in one or more of these areas. </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">We talked about some strategies we </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">can use to make some of these potential differences less obvious, and some simple things we can do that help </span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;">put our interviewee at ease and to engage with them as equals.</span><span lang="EN" style="font-size: 10.5pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
