<p>In this unit, you learned two strategies that fact checkers use to evaluate the credibility of online sources: lateral reading and click restraint. This assignment asks you to bring these strategies to your students. You will teach a model lesson developed by the Stanford History Education Group on lateral reading. Using the responses you collect from your students, you will reflect on how the lesson went overall. Note that the Unit 2 assignment is not about helping students master these strategies but rather 1) getting more familiar yourself with these strategies, 2) understanding student misconceptions about evaluating online sources and 3) identifying how you can more effectively teach these strategies in the future.</p>

<li>If you are not currently a classroom teacher, partner with a colleague to teach in their classroom, or find a small group of students or peers to practice teaching with. </li>
